Volunteers Team
Paul Smith aka Stewart- Head of Programme Schedules
Paul started in radio back in the 1980’s and worked for both BBC local Radio and Independent Local Radio in the North West.

He was a main radio presenter with The Marcher Sound Group working on Marcher Gold, MFM, and Marcher Coast FM in the 1990’s. Paul then went on to teach Media Studies in 1997 with Wirral Metropolitan College and developed a radio Production course and became the co founder of the 7 Waves Community Radio Project in May 2001.

In 2003 Paul became involved in the project as lead tutor and has been programme controller since day one. The launch of 7 Waves Community Radio as a full time community radio station for the Wirral has been a lifelong ambition.
Glynn Thomas - Head of Community Programming

As Head of Community Programming, Glynn is responsible for the Community Team and its interface with community groups and organisations in Wirral.

As one of the founder members of Radio Catherine (which became Arrowe Sound Hospital Radio in 1981), Glynn was Programme Controller 1973 – 1986. He presented a Sunday evening magazine programme featuring interviews and news from around the locality. His passion for radio was evident at school where he managed to convince an English teacher that he be allowed to produce the class magazine on tape in the form of a radio programme. Media training didn't exist in the 1960's!

Glynn jumped at the opportunity of becoming involved in 7 Waves Community Radio, initially as a student on RSL2. Technology had moved on from turntables, reel-to-reel tape, splicing blocks and razor blades so Glynn had to become acquainted with the digital studio and editing.

Dave Holt - Online Designer and Editor

Dave got involved with 7 Waves back in 2003 when he heard there was a course running in the area in Radio. Being interested in Radio since he was about 8 he jumped at the chance, and joined the course in October 2003.

Once Dave found out that 7 Waves was getting a new website having experience in website's he nagged the technical officer for weeks showing him his ideas for a new website for the station. It payed off and they let him run the website from February 2004 and he has been running ever since.

"I have loved doing the website since day one and over the years we have seen many new looks to the website and I hope to carry on designing 7waves.co.uk in the for seeable future."
